Thanks for all the travel tips, this post seriously answered like half of my questions. I’m planning to get to Vegan Camp Out from Leeds with a few friends, and we’re going full public transport + backpacks mode. But tbh, I wish I’d brought my Away luggage last year instead of a basic duffel—wheels make such a difference, and the hard shell kept my oat milk cartons from exploding. If you're traveling far, don’t sleep on solid luggage and bring an extra tote or compressible bag for hauling goodies home.
Just wondering why flying is being promoted as an option at a vegan festival? Surely we should be limiting environmental impact as much as possible and that includes discouraging flying and certainly not listing it as a travel option before trains or coaches. I'd like to think there are no vegans attending who would consider flight as a travel option in the first place but it shocked me to see it listed here! The environmental impact of one flight is so large that it effectively makes a whole year's worth of veganism worthless in terms of the CO2 produced- I know a lot of people are vegan for the animals and not for the environment but animal welfare is intrinsically…
